The most exciting game of round 11 in the BSN took place in San German. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Atleticos (2-7) to second ranked Indios (5-3) 80-77 on Wednesday evening. It was a great evening for American power forward Nick Perkins (203-1996, college: Buffalo) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import Milton Doyle (193-1993, college: Loyola, IL) helped adding 8 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. International point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) responded with 22 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mayaguez maintains second place with 5-3 record behind leader Caguas. San German lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Quebradillas. Fifth ranked Aguada (4-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Piratas (4-7) 88-86 in the game for the third place. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Cameron McGriff (201-1997, college: OK State) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Alexander Abreu accounted for 10 points and 12 assists. DR Congolese point guard Emmanuel Mudiay (196-1996) came up with 18 points and 5 assists for Quebradillas in the defeat. Piratas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aguada moved-up to third place. Quebradillas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Arecibo. First ranked host Capitanes (6-1) defeated 3rd placed Vaqueros (4-4) 102-97. The best player for the winners was David Stockton who scored 20 points and 9 assists. Capitanes' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. QJ Peterson produced 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the guests. Capitanes have a solid series of three victories in a row. Arecibo maintains first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Guaynabo. Bayamon at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost.
In the last two games of round 11 Ponce won against Santurce on the opponent's court 84-79. Carolina unfortunately lost to Manati in a home game 105-111.
